Markdown Table Validator

Validate Markdown tables for shape, alignment and predictable rendering.

v0.1.0 · Node.js 22+ · MIT

Browse the public repository · View releases

A Markdown table breaks quietly. A row with one cell too many silently loses a value in GFM; a row with one too few silently gains an empty one. A pipe typed inside a code span splits the row even though it looks like content. A delimiter row with one wrong character turns the whole block back into a paragraph. None of this is reported by the renderer, and a reviewer reading the diff sees pipes that line up.

This walkthrough uses the tool's public README and checked-in example files. Run the command from a repository checkout with Node.js 22+; inspect the source before using it on your own files.

Run the checked-in example

npm install github:edilec/markdown-table-validator

Read the result

This installs the public GitHub source; markdown-table-validator is not published to npm.

Where this check stops

It also does not fix anything. The preview is a separate file you can read, diff and copy from; nothing is written back over your documents.

Before adapting the command to your own workflow, review the accepted inputs, exit codes and safety boundaries in the README.

Compiled with AI assistance from checked-in public documentation and example scripts. Run the example and review the repository's current documentation before relying on its result.
